I always think that I am working in the wrong industry. I think... this is because most people in the IT industry do not work as a team. (Silo)
People go to work with different goals they want. Some may want to get paid by showing up everyday, some may just go to work to play game, some may think they only need to perform what they are told to do,.... A lot of reasons...
I realize I am facing a problem that people in my workplace are not having the same/similar goal, which is to work smart, to learn and to improve the work that we are doing, and to get new things happen.
I am trying to get a 'speeding' ticket, but no one else wants here. This is quite sad to understand this fact.

Secrets of Greatness

Use humility as a weapon.Hector Ruiz, CEO, AMD
Since Hector Ruiz took over as AMD's CEO in April 2002, the microprocessor-maker has increased its market share and is now spoken of in the same breath as Intel, which is about six times larger. The unpretentious Ruiz would be the last one to call himself "great," and in that may lie his true greatness. Humility is one of his most powerful tools. Three more:
Working at warp speed. We have gotten larger and more complex. By definition that means we're going to make some mistakes. I'm much more comfortable in an environment when I know that's going to happen. That means we're learning. An aura of confidence begins to develop around people who can make mistakes and learn and go forward. At employee meetings I say, "Please, go get speeding tickets. I don't want you to get parking tickets."
Embrace ambiguity. Part of my job is to make people comfortable with change and ambiguity. That sounds counterintuitive. A lot of people think CEOs have to be absolutely crisp and perfect on what they want. Quite often my people push back. I don't like spelling out exactly what people need to do. I think that boxes them in.
Think more. Sometimes I just pick up the phone and call someone who is going to make me think. This week I called [an Internet executive] and talked to him about some of his ideas. I need to understand people like him who are thinking differently about the future, because I can easily get to thinking that the next PC just needs to be a little faster or a little cheaper, and miss the whole thing.

why HK is regressing
People at work are working just for $$$. They will ONLY do the minimum of work to ensure they have money deposited in their bank account every month.
what can i do?
I cannot motivate them to do EXTRA enhancement on the tool because they have set up the basic features on the tool.
I am very disappointed.
I don't believe all the HK people work like them. It is just my bad luck that this kind of people always in my workplace.

back to normal
Well, I think my life is back to normal.
I am not willing to wake up this week, that is the normal me. :-)
I get my renovated DC back. The front and rear covers were replaced. It looks like a new one.

原來我現在也可以睡很久
I slept for 12 hours a day when I was in Columbus, from 6pm to 6am. I cannot believe that I can sleep that long after I start the working life. I always think that I can only do this when I was a student.
But last night, I fell asleep at 5am then woke up at 5pm again.

I finished the trip again
Office at Columbus
I attended a technical training in US Columbus in late Sept for a week. I stayed in Chicago to enjoy a relaxing weekend with my little sister.
The weather was wonderful. This is expected. I have the luck to travel with sunny nice weather. You can imagine that right after I got on the plane to leave, there was thurderstorm.
I went back home on 3-Oct. I think I have jet-lag. And I am still jet-lagging. Last night, I went to bed at 5am and I woke up at 5pm this afternoon. It is so amazing. I am going out to enjoy another weekend in HK. Bye for now.
