I always think that I am working in the wrong industry. I think... this is because most people in the IT industry do not work as a team. (Silo)
People go to work with different goals they want. Some may want to get paid by showing up everyday, some may just go to work to play game, some may think they only need to perform what they are told to do,.... A lot of reasons...
I realize I am facing a problem that people in my workplace are not having the same/similar goal, which is to work smart, to learn and to improve the work that we are doing, and to get new things happen.
I am trying to get a 'speeding' ticket, but no one else wants here. This is quite sad to understand this fact.

You should read a book called "The Fifth Discipline", which can help you to identify the situation you are facing.
u wanna be a leader? or a facilitator? motivating a team is not easy ... i think if you have a sales team .. commission bonus will motivate them a bit. i am not sure your team's function ... u know what i mean.
I am not in the sales team, I am in operation team. People think work as BAU is their duty.
Motivation??? may be the year-end bonus....but the amount is not too much.
