I really can't understand. People's working attitudes are so .... unsatisfactory.
They work very 馬虎..........perfunctory.
I cannot understand, we are working in the IT industry, which began by "1" and "0". The combination created our IT world. It should work very carefully because a single digit change will create a total different output.
Do we suppose to work accurately?
I feel very frustrated....

could ITIL framework work in your company's environment?
ITIL is just best practices, a framework, guidelines... to do and provide best service.
Some people have certified, but they like to do in their own ways.
The concept of ITIL is.. change the mild-set of the person who provides services. To think from the business perspective is the key domain of "ITIL".
But if those people do not care the customers or business, ITIL is not their cup of tea. They know ITIL and it does not mean that they need to do the way ITIL is. (don't forget I am in IT world. The impression is ... technical people cares about technical..not the business. Service guys will care the customer and business. And ITIL is talking about service or technical stuff)
Like murdering, people know that killing people is not right, is a crime, even there are so many religions, Ten Commandments.... There are still murderers in the world.
Put it this way, even we should not cross the road when the traffic light is green (ie. for pedestrian is red). If there is no traffic or vehicle on the road, some of us may still cross the road.
ITIL, it is talking about process. It doesn't mean people will follow even they understand ITIL. Because there is process doesn't mean people must execute according to the process. This is the problem............
hmm.. i aint too sure about the ITIL thing, but sometimes i also think - how come ppl just don't do their work ACCURATELY!?
i mean, it's not that i'm a Saint and never made mistake. no, that's not what i'm saying - mistakes are to make, but at least TRY HARD to MINIMIZE it - and not expecting anyone will RECHECK your work before it go any further?! u know what i mean?!
some times work can get REALLY FRUSTRATED... *Sigh*
i think the company's or division/organizational culture is a key point. you have a best practice/process developed (it could be ITIL or anything that proves working) for the product/service. how do you make individuals (no matter how small role they are representing in the project/process)feel they are accountable for the deliverables he/she presents. check and balance, if he/she keeps repeating the same mistake, there's either a gap in the process/best practice that needs to be improved/reviewed. or that person is just incapable of following directions. if that person does not fit the job, nor get the job done right. it's time for a decision. however, there's always gray area of how to measure one's performance ... and management is also another factor to be considered. for me, i am always 'worrying' if i didn't get the job done right, and i would be too proactive in some cases when i am unsure about what i should be doing in the next day, and u don't get the feedback u were expecting from another source. that situation got me frustrated. sometimes, i think, may be i just escalate to his/her manager, and sometimes i think may be the workload was high that week ... may be i could get an email from him/her during mid-night ... and don't forget there are ppl who 'blow water' and claim they did this/that ... in order to increase their value in the organization. many different kinds of ppl in the world ... so, prepare to fight this type of battle anytime. nonetheless, a change in mentality is a long process. i don't want to just treat my job as a job, i want to treat my job as a step to reach my career's next milestone.
